to read the Black Jewels trilogy? Oh my. Just finished the first book and it was SO incredibly good. So good. So very very good. I felt that the events toward the end were inevitable, but oh how I didn't want them to occur. Poor Daemon, poor Lucivar, poor Saeton... Poor Jaenelle.

That was exactly my reaction too. And they stay fantastic. Happy reading.
It's fantastic isn't it! And you still have two more books to come you lucky thing! And then have to wait for the fourth book next year!
Okay...who wrote them? What are they about? Help! I'm looking for a great read. :)
Kaitlin, they're by Anne Bishop.
Erm....about....dark fantasy. Crazy and twisted, yet mixed with some surprisingly tender and funny moments. So far, the books are just incredible.
I'm jealous in a way, to have the next two books still to read. :)
Don't forget there's also the anthology Dreams Made Flesh which has four short stories set in that world. Actually a couple are closer to novella length. But you need to read the trilogy first.
There's also The Invisible Ring which is set in the Black Jewels Universe but takes place before the trilogy. The Sadist has a small part in it.
I do have Dreams Made Flesh. I've already started the third book and am almost done.
I keep meaning to read that trilogy! I think the size is putting me off. But everyone seems to love it so. :)
Jennie, it's not really that long. I finished each book in maybe a day and a half, sometimes less and I wasn't constantly reading during that time, I still worked full-time. It just whips along.
