Back cover blurb:
In Royal Oak, a suburb of Detroit, thirtysomething Abby Cooper lives a life that's kind of like vanilla ice cream - good enough, but a little bland. Her work as a P.I. - Psychic Intuitive - can be rewarding, but she feels like somehow she's missing out on the hot-fudge topping...
Now she's getting what she wished for - when a client winds up dead and the clues start pointing in Abby's direction. Turns out she knows too many details about the murder for her own good. To make matters worse, the hot blind date she just met is the lead investigator on the case. And gorgeous Detective Dutch Rivers is convinced she's a fraud.
No matter how great her psychic abilities, Abby doesn't know is she can solve this case. Unfortunately for her, the killer thinks she can...
This book was loads of fun and a perfect light summer mystery. It's a breezy read and never boring. I also loved that although Abby is an amateur sleuth, she never really ventures into TSTL territory and even once heads out of town to get away from the action. There's even a little romance. I really can't wait to read the sequel and I guess there's another one coming out in December. yay!
Sunburn update:
I'm still rather dark and painful. There's some blistering on my upper arms. Ouch. It hurt so bad this morning when I woke up. DH says he accidentally rolled over towards me in the night and I screamed. Oops. I hope it gets better soon. I don't look so hot. Aloe, acetaminophen, and solarcaine are my friends.

Okay, I didn't scream, I more like said "Ouch!". But ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow.
You poor thing!
I liked this book, too. I have the next one on my TBR pile. I'm just waiting until I'm in the perfect mood for it.

Okay, I just want to point out to you book traders, that this book is on my wishlist *wink, wink, nudge, nudge, hint, hint*
Damn, I amaze myself with my subtlety sometimes ;)
lol Angie. I do think I'm keeping this one, but I'll keep an eye out.
I read this a few months back and really enjoyed it, even though there were a few things that bugged me. But hey, I can't remember what they were anymore, so it couldn't have been that bad? I've got the next release in my wishlist, too. Interesting that the author is also a psychic.
Ouch on the sunburn! I hope you feel better soon. I'd wanted to pick up the Abby Cooper book, but wasn't sure I could get through it since it's in first person. (I don't do well with books written entirely in first person.) I may have to give it another look now. Thanks!
