Midnight Rain by Holly Lisle

Oooh...I just loved reading this book. Very edge-of-the-seat and chilling. I even braved the wrath of my husband trying to sleep as I read the last chapter and couldn't stand to stop and go into the other room. I loved all the twists and turns and the believability of these characters as they are swept up in circumstances that are definitely crazy. I'd think the story was going one way, and then something would happen to make it go another.

I know I've read Holly Lisle in the past, some of her fantasy stuff, but I have to say I don't remember those stories enthralling me as much as this one. I sincerely hope that she plans to write many more thrillers like this one. I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for Last Girl Dancing and if it's half as good as this one was, I'll be one happy girl.

Book blurb:
Phoebe Rain's sadistic ex-husband lies in a coma a thousand miles away-a coma she put him the last time he tried to kill her. Yet Phoebe knows the voice on the other end of the line belongs to the twisted man who vowed he'd never let her get away. Panicked, she turns to her neighbor, Dr. Alan MacKerrie. Alan finds the story hard to believe himself, but now he, too, is receiving chilling, ghostly warnings of danger. Caught between icy terror and mounting passion for Alan, Phoebe knows there's no escape. Someone is watching. Something is coming. And it's closer than she thinks...

So...go out and get this book! And the new one so she'll keep on writing.

Goody! I have this on my TBR pile, will move it closer to the top ;)

And the post you requested about the remaining books is coming. I just wanted to get Monica's books reviewed while I could still remember details and do them justice!

This was a great book. Enjoyed it so much I bought her new one, Last Girl Dancing, without reading the blurb.

HI!
I was scrolling and I saw that you already read and commented on Sins of the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I guess you are more discerning than I am. I was in the mood for a nice read, not too punchy and an interesting relationship story. So I liked it. Didn't LOVE it like usual, but I liked it. I want to know more about Savitar. He sounds like she has a second chance at writing a story with a kick-butt guy with an attitude. I mean, if he can give Ash a run for his money...that story might be worth writing...if she writes him stronger than Alexion...what do you think?
I also read Do You Believe by Ann Lawrence. Have you read that? What's your opinion?

Michele, I just read Do You Believe yesterday. At Nicole's request, I'm finishing up my post on all the books I read in the past few weeks and it will be online tomorrow. As an odd coincedence, I just finished the bit about Do You Believe, if you're interested in a second opinion. Look for it tomorrow!

Nope, I haven't read Do You Believe? I thought it sounded too weird, so wasn't really interested in getting it.
