I admit it, I love to read Regencies. Not the Regency-set historicals, but the ones with the boring covers and sweet romance inside. Okay, so I like to read the other kind, too, but that's not what this post is about. In my pursuit of future reading material, I noticed that Zebra has undergone a cover change thing. They actually have fairly good covers! Signet, on the other hand, hasn't changed, that I could see. So...here are the covers of Zebra Regency Romances (not to be confused with Zebra Historicals). And well...the cat one...I'm a sucker for kittens. And they probably know that. So...am I the only one that likes the majority of the new covers?

I love the new covers!! I'm wondering how long the faceless trend will last -- and how they'll continue to hide those faces.
I rather like the faceless trend. I think it allows you to decide on your own who the characters look like, yet still showing period costumes, etc.
You're right the covers are great!!
And I agree, I've always liked the faceless covers, leaves things to the imagination.
Wow. Regency covers have really changed!!! I love those.
They do have some great covers now. You show a nice selection of them. I'm going to have to start looking for them at the bookstore.

I like the trend too -- an editor told me the publishers went for it because they knew readers would rather imagine faces. Yet the look is so distinctive, I'm guessing it'll look dated soon.
Wow, those are some of the best covers I've seen in ages. I especially liked To Tempt a Gentleman.
I keep wanting to pick up the Once Upon A Sofa one because it looks like the type of book I would like (I heavily judge books by their covers) but I keep putting it down because I'm not a fan of Regencies. *le sigh
