You know, for the most part I like this cover -- but is it just me, or does the model look like she needs a lot of sleep? Or that she's drugged? Yikes!
Heh, you know, I think I wrote the review for Julie Kenner's debut (a Harlequin of some sort, I think it was Temptation) for AAR. It was pretty good. Looks like she has gone in a completely different direction in the last 5 years. I'll have to check it out.
Meljean, you know, her eyes were originally PURPLE. Let me tell you, THAT looked like she was an alien :) Candy, you did review my debut, and gave it a lovely grade, too! I still use the Jennifer Crusie-esque quote, LOL!
I occasionally do, but not too often. I enjoy them, but I also get SO many of them that it's hard to weed out what you like.
I'm looking at a Leslie Kelly one I have here and it's quite cute. It's a generic front with her "brand" one it "Live, Love, Laugh..." and her name and website. The back has recent and upcoming books. it's quite cute.
On the other hand, seeing the bookmark every night will get the book in my mind and seeing an author name that's familiar to me makes me more likely to pick it up. So in that sense, yeah, I do buy books from bookmarks.
Oh, if you do do bookmarks, don't go with bigger is better. I like the smaller kinds (slightly smaller than the length of a paperback) because it's easier to use.
So I think they are good for getting your name out there.

Erm...actually, those comments are rather apt for part of the book. :-)

Erm...did any of that make sense?
